Although no one wants war, the best part about DARPA is that the technology bleeds over into the civilian sector. Many of these technologies will spark innovation as they are adapted to non-military uses. The plan is great in that it may revolutionize transportation, especially in metropolitan areas where land is scarce for the building of runways.
