The Attitude of Gratitude!

When life gets hectic and you begin to feel overwhelmed, take a moment to focus on the people and things you are grateful for in life.

Sit down with your kids and start thinking of things that make you smile or that make you down right happy.  If you can't think of anything, start small. You can be thankful for forks or bathtubs, silly pets, sunny days, crackling leaves, bubbles, a clean kitchen.

One of the most impressive reasons for being grateful is the positive impact on the way you think and feel. Research shows that grateful people are more alert, and have higher levels of enthusiasm, determination, attentiveness and energy.

Besides all of that, it's just a fun thing to do. You can make a "Gratitude Journal" by stapling a few sheets of paper together. Have your kids draw things on the cover page. You can write in your "journal" all at one time or it could become a before-bed ritual.
