Boy badly burned while trying to build fire for marshmallows

Boy badly burned while trying to build fire for marshmallows

This is interesting and sad to hear about. First, you do not use a gasoline can to start a fire with. Second, a small fire works better than a large one if you want to melt marshmallows or you could use a microwave to do it. We were going to light a Yule fire last night, but the boys were not listening well enough for me to do this. Therefore, we post poned the annual Yule Fire until tonight. If the boys behave, then we will have this family tradition tonight. Now, to build a safe fire, you do not need gasoline, but you do need some kindling, and a match works just fine for lighting this. You can also obtain a small fire-starter (which is a mini fire log) at your local supermarket to start the fire. I've used this and it works very well indeed. Hopefully the boy learns from his mistake and heals quickly. Burns are never fun. I just pray that it does NOT get infected.
