Court ruling declares a fetus a minor child in wrongful death lawsuits

This is a good ruling in that NOW if a woman looses a child due to violence (e.g. a perpetrator punching the woman in the abdomen while pregnant) that results in the child being lost, then the perpetrator can now be held accountable. While this is a good move, work still needs to be done to be sure that it doesn't turn into a law that discriminates against women that have spontaneous abortions, which the woman has no control over. Now comes the hard part, enforcing this going forward and ensuring that no improper precedents are set.
